CTS-V Performance Lab
Event & Social Media Campaign Role: CD, Modernista! Client: Cadillac
The only way to truly understand what 556 horsepower means is to get behind the wheel and stomp on the gas. But unless you live in Germany, chances are it's illegal. For the launch of the 2009 CTS-V, we invited 660 regular folks to experience the vehicle on the Monticello Motor Club racetrack in New York state. We gave them the day to drive the CTS, XLR-V and CTS-V without fear of spending the night in a jail cell.
The CTS-V drive event
Over 600 drivers were invited to experience the CTS-V firsthand.

The Performance Lab microsite
And to help them relive the experience and share it with their friends, we sent them a personalized link to their own Performance Lab driving video. Each CTS-V was rigged with three cameras and a black box computer that captured diagnostics measurements such as; speed, RPM, g-force, brake & throttle pressure, and GPS position on the racetrack. All of this was synchronized with the video feeds in a custom flash website that was embeddable and sharable.

Users were benchmarked against Cadillac pro racer Andy Pilgrim. As their car moves around the track, they can see just how much faster Andy really is.
